New Martyn's Law update from the SIA
Security

Laura Gibb, the SIA's Executive Director for Martyn's Law has provided an update on Martyn's Law.

Gibb urges organisations to understand whether their event or premises is in scope of Martyn's Law and offers guidance including flowcharts, which explain how to do this.

Organisations will also need to establish who the responsible person is, with Section 27 guidance available along with further tools.

Pilot assessments and inspections have been carried out to develop, test and improve the tools being created. Further pilots will begin in the autumn.

The notifications portal will be available through GOV.UK.

Gibb said: "I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help us test our systems so far. Your feedback is shaping how we build these, and it will continue to do so as we move through further phases of testing. If you have yet to register your interest and would like to get involved, you can still sign up."
