Figen Murray requests meeting with prime minister

Figen Murray, the mother of Martyn Hett who died at the Manchester Arena attack, has recorded a message for the new prime minister, urging him to put public security high on the government's agenda.

The video posted on Twitter is addressed to prime minister Rishi Sunak, security minister Tom Tugendhat and home secretary Suella Braverman.

In the video, she explains her four-year campaign for security legislation and how she has been working with the home office and security ministers to bring this in.

She mentioned her recent meeting with Tom Tugendhat, which she describes as a really good meeting.

During the video, Murray asks the prime minister for a meeting, one parent to another, to explain what it is like to lose somebody to an act of terrorism.

She also asks the prime minister to pay attention to security legislation very soon, as public security should be high on the government's agenda.
