19-year-old arrested for terrorism offence

A 19-year-old has been arrested in Portsmouth as part of an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command and the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU).

The teenager was arrested on Tuesday, on suspicion of disseminating terrorist publications (under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006).

An address in Essex is also being searched as part of the same investigation.

The investigation is linked to Islamist terrorism.
