Shamima Begum loses citizenship appeal

Shamima Begum has lost her latest appeal at the Court of Appeal over the removal of her citizenship.

Begum is still in Syria and will not return to the UK.

She left the UK in 2015, at the age of 15 and travelled to Syria to join Islamic State  Group. She married a fighter and had three children - all of whom have died.

Begum had her citizenship removed in 2019, and a previous appeal to overturn this decision, at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, a year ago, also failed.
