15-year-old pleads guilty to terrorism offences

A 15-year-old from Stockon-on-Tees has pleaded guilty to ten offences.

The teenager was arrested in December 2023 in a pre-planned intelligence-led operation, following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East into suspected extreme right wing terrorism.

The charges include: five offences under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 – Collect or makes a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism; three offences under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – Dissemination of terrorist publications; one offence under Section 1 Criminal Damage Act 1971 – Criminal Damage; and one offence under Section 30 Crime and Disorder Act 1988 – Racially Aggravated Criminal Damage.

He will be sentenced on 4 June.
