Man killed in German knife attack

A man has been killed with three others wounded after an attack by a knife-wielding man near Munich, with police investigating a possible Islamist connection. Police arrested the suspected attacker after he was overpowered at the railway station in Grafing. Some witnesses within the station said he shouted ‘Allahu akbar’ (‘God is great’ in Arabic) but the motive for the attack is unclear - although Islamist links are being investigated. The mayor of Grafing, Angelika Obermayr, expressed shock at the attack, saying: “The idea that people get on an S-Bahn train on a beautiful morning or do their paper round and then become victims of a maniac is terrible.”
