Counter terror exercise at Trafford Centre

The Trafford Centre in Manchester, one of the country’s largest shopping centres, is due to stage a mock terror attack on Tuesday 10 May. Greater Manchester Police said that the three-day major counter-terrorism exercise will ‘test the emergency response to a major terrorist incident’. The simulation - codenamed Winchester Accord - has been in the planning since December, a spokeswoman said. Similar counter-terrorism exercises have been carried out in London and Glasgow.
