BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004 certified, Central Scanning are one of the leading UK 3D Digitzing companies providing a comprehensive range of services and system sales.
What do we do The activities that we get involved in fall into 3 main categories and these are: 3D Digitising equipment sales and on-going training and support; Reverse Engineering and Inspection of parts against CAD models or other parts.
The equipment that we use (supplied by the manufacturers listed below) enables us to provide a first class service to our numerous customers many of which have been with us since virtually the start of the company in 2006. By working with our customers, we have established a reputation for providing the high level of service that our customers deserve and in return, we often get referrals from them that In turn generates further business.
Hardware Sales Activities Please note - we only sell equipment that we use on a daily basis and hence can provide our customers with a good level of technical support / back-up service as required. We operate from a discrete, secure location in Bromsgrove, have a fully air-conditioned measuring facility and are very used to working on confidential projects and discretion is guaranteed.
We are UK agents for the following companies:
Steinbichler Optotechnik Established in 1987, Steinbichler are market leaders in the design, development and manufacture of non-contact metrology systems – 3D digitizing, Surface Inspection, Shearography (Non-Destructive Testing), Vibration and Deformation Analysis. Systems can be used manually and semi / fully automated with a wide range of commercially available and bespoke robotic applications.
Aicon 3D Systems Aicon 3D are experts in the design and manufacture of measurement systems for measuring distortion, dummy positioning for crash testing, vibration analysis, pre and post crash analysis, wheel movements, photogrammetry, touch probe measuring and general non-contact point measuring.
Artec 3D Artec 3D design and manufacture the Artec range of hand held 3D Scanning systems. These systems offer immense portability and very fast set up times. They are typically used in medical, industrial, media & design, films, fashion, heritage, body scanning, face scanning, forsensics and insurance applications. The unique digitizing approach makes the Artec experience fulfilling allowing the user to be very creative with the usage of the technology and the data.
Reverse Engineering Activities: Using the equipment that we have, we can reverse engineer products and prototypes to create CAD data for subsequent tooling manufacture and further design. We can provide the data in a number of formats, the most common being .igs and .stp (iges and step). The data is then used by designers, analysis companies and a variety of other disciplines to add value to their product design cycle.
Scan data generated can easily be ‘scaled’ up or down to enable a current part to be re-produced at a large or smaller scale by using machining or rapid prototyping methods.
Inspection Activities: Traditionally, people have been measuring parts manually with height gauges, shadowgraphs, calipers etc or assuming that the product is correct as ‘it is made to CAD’. Many upstream customers are now demanding far more from the inspection processes available and by 3D scanning a component, we can provide a meaningful report that is both very accurate, pictorial and easy to understand for the manufacturer and customer. This information is being used for product inspection reports, continuous improvement, distortion analysis and root cause analysis to name a few areas. The use of 3D inspection is becoming more and more popular and we are finding that many more market sectors are becoming involved when compared to a few years ago.
CMM (co-ordinate measuring machine) In addition to the above technologies and services, we have a large volume (2.5M*1.5M*1.0M) ITP CNC controlled CMM machine for sub contract measuring.
If there is anything that you think we may be able to help with, please give us a call on the numbers below and we will be more than happy to discuss the application with you.
